About Our Owasso

The City of Owasso has been fortunate in seeing notable economic development and cultural growth in recent years, which can be attributed mainly to the intelligent allocation of resources and strategic planning that focuses on achieving impactful and significant long term goals, rather than becoming distracted by every immediate and temporary problem; and therein lies the major wedge between the government and the public at large. It is easy to become displeased if you feel certain problems are being over-looked, but there is almost certainly a justified reason with the overall good of the City in mind behind any such decision. As an expanding, prosperous, and independent entity it is sometimes easy to become content with our success and forget the manner in which we became a city that is associated throughout this state with creativity and continual improvement; and that is by taking calculated risks, being progressive, and making the most of every opportunity presented. This blog is intended to create a window into the daily life of elected city officials and the choices they make, and to provide the most important part of any decision; why. This will be a more personal outlet and explain why the municipal officials choose to go in the directions they do and the reasons why that direction is the best and most appropriate. It will define and clarify why the administration approaches government the way it does and attempt to spark deeper discussions concerning the formulation, adaptation, and implementation of public policy.
