May is a time when residents busy themselves with Spring cleaning, both indoors and out. This weekend, Owasso Strong Neighborhood will host the bi-annual Owasso CARES event in conjunction with Keep Owasso Clean, to bring volunteers together to help clean up our community.
When performing your own cleanup remember to dispose of trash in your City provided receptacle within the guidelines set forth here, http://cityofowasso.com/244/Refuse-Collection-Rules. If the items you wish to dispose of are not allowed in your regular refuse pickup, the City provides disposal of recyclable and other items at the City’s Recycle Center, 499 S Main. The hours of operation and information on what is accepted can be found at http://cityofowasso.com/…/Owasso-Recycling-Center-Disposal-….
Finally, private dumpsters located at commercial businesses and on private property are not for public use. The City’s Health and Sanitation Ordinance regarding the proper disposal of discarded trash, large personal items, and yard waste can be found at, http://weblink.cityofowasso.com/WebLink8/DocView.aspx…. Improper disposal could result in a citation, subject to fines and fees. Help us keep Owasso clean and beautiful by being responsible in your cleanup efforts.
