Responsibilities


The City of Owasso Community Development Department is responsible for administering land use control mechanisms, including zoning and subdivision regulations, building codes, variance requests, and public nuisances.


Divisions

The department is comprised of 3 divisions, each of which has varying degrees of responsibility: 
  • Building Inspections and Permits
  • Code Enforcement
  • Planning, Zoning, Land Development, Planning Commission, and Board of Adjustment

GrOwasso 2030 Land Use Master Plan Update

The Community Development Department held a Public Input Meeting to discuss proposed updates to the GrOwasso 2030 Land Use Master Plan with Owasso property owners and citizens on September 20, 2018 at 6:00 pm in the Community Room at City Hall. Public Hearings on the proposed update to the Land Use Master Plan will be held at the Planning Commission on November 12, 2018 and at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. Both Public Hearings will be held at Old Central, located at 109 N Birch, Owasso, Oklahoma 74055.

Owasso Zoning Map Update
The Community Development Department held a Public Input Meeting to discuss an update to the Owasso Zoning Map with Owasso property owners and citizens on September 26, 2018 at 6:00 pm in the Community Room at City Hall. Public Hearings on the the proposed changes were held at the Planning Commission meeting on October 8, 2018 at 6:00 pm and at the City Council meeting on October 16, 2018 at 6:30 pm. 

Staff will bring the proposed update to the Owasso Zoning Map for consideration and recommendation to the Planning Commission meeting on November 12, 2018. Staff also anticipates bringing the proposed Zoning Map for consideration and final action to the City Council meeting on November 20, 2018.
